It's easier to beat camera-issued tickets than most people think. You have the constitutional right to face and question your accuser, and this is impossible when the accuser is an inanimate object. Often, the court will dismiss the case when you (politely!) point this out.

While many legal experts don't believe you have much of a chance in a traffic ticket law court without the help of an attorney, this isn't necessarily true. A little homework, politeness, and determination can go a long way toward winning the case by yourself.

Camera-issued tickets can be extremely profitable for some cities, but you can beat them by asking to question your accuser. Even if you're presented with the officer who examined the record, if you object to their testimony because it's hearsay, you'll probably have the ticket dismissed.
