Tips
Under child support law, annuities such as worker's compensation and personal injury payments are considered to be personal income for purposes of child support, even if they are otherwise untaxed. This is well-established law, and would be difficult fight in court.

While Social Security benefits are considered income under child support law and can be used to determine child support, in most circumstances Supplemental Security (SSI) benefits are not considered to be income, at least for the purposes of child support.

No benefits based on a means test, be it SSI, food stamps, or Section 8 housing, can be considered income under child support law. Neither are adoption benefits, a form of child support especially those intended for adopted children with special needs.
