Tips
In all states in the United States the court will require child support payments continue while the child is a minor or until they have completed high school. Some states may also require payment while the child is in college, although this additional payment is not common.

In some divorces where the children are spending a true 50 -50 time split with each parent there may not be any child support ordered as each parent is financially responsible for the child while the kids are with them. One parent, however, will still be required to carry the insurance for the child or children even if the parents agree to split the costs of the insurance.

It doesn't matter of you're a man or a woman: if you've been ordered to pay child support by the court, you're honor- and legally-bound to do it. Child support law allows the state government to recapture your tax returns and garnish your wages if you don't.
