
It's not unusual to hire a particular bankruptcy attorney only to arrive at bankruptcy law court and find that they've handed the case off to another lawyer in their firm. To avoid this kind of bait-and-switch, make it very clear to the attorney that you make arrangements with that you're expecting them to be the person representing you.

You'll have enough trouble trying to deal with the bankruptcy law as it is, so don't try to save money by hiring a cheap or inexperienced lawyer; instead, hire they most lawyer you can afford. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for, and that's as true in law as in anything else.
